Stately MCP support

Get help connecting Stately in ChatGPT, Codex, and other MCP hosts, opening models, and saving behavior proposals.

Stately brings visual application flows into ChatGPT, Codex, and other MCP hosts. This page covers connection problems, model access, editing, and saved proposals.

Contact support

Email support@stately.ai. Include:

  • What you tried and the error message.
  • The host you use, such as ChatGPT web, ChatGPT desktop, or Codex.
  • Whether the problem happens when connecting, opening a model, saving a proposal, or handing it to chat.

Screenshots are helpful. Remove private information, and never include API keys, passwords, or access tokens.

Connect Stately

Connect the official hosted MCP endpoint:

https://mcp.stately.ai/mcp

Sign in with the Stately account that owns or can access your models. If a connection uses an old or different account, reconnect and sign in with the intended account.

See the Stately MCP connection guide for client setup.

I cannot open a model

Check that you are signed in to the correct Stately account and have access to the model's project. A link or machine ID does not grant access to a private project.

I can view a model but cannot edit

Free accounts can save generated models and view them read-only in the MCP editor. Editing and saving behavior proposals require a verified paid editing entitlement and permission to edit the project.

If you have paid access, check that the MCP connection uses the same account and that you can edit the project's models in Stately. See account plans and project access.

I cannot implement a proposal

Save your graph changes with Save proposal first. Implementation requires a chat host that supports proposal handoff and has access to your application source.

Saving a proposal creates a saved version in Stately; it does not change your application code. Implement changes sends the saved proposal to the current chat for the agent to review and implement. If the host cannot send messages, use a host that supports this handoff.

If the chat has no source access, connect the source project before asking it to implement the proposal.

What does an estimated flow mean?

An estimated flow describes behavior inferred from source or a supplied description. Source evidence documents the estimate; it does not verify runtime behavior.

Before implementation, review the current source and any stale or conflicting changes. A description-only model has no recorded source snapshot, so its source freshness is unknown. Matching source hashes do not prove the application behaves correctly.

See Stately's privacy policy and terms of service.
